How it works

Learn Calc-Class.

How a problem becomes a model you can change - plus short guides for sharing, classes, and Focus Mode.

The four steps

Every calculator in Calc-Class goes through the same flow.

Add a problem

Type a problem, paste one in, or upload a photo of it - typed problems go straight to the solver, and a photo is read by Claude directly.

Review the math

Confirm the equation, points, variables, or model Calc-Class detected before it becomes a calculator - nothing is created without your review.

Change one thing

Edit any input left changeable and watch the outputs and graph update instantly - nothing is re-sent for interpretation, so it's immediate.

Share the experiment

Share the calculator by link, code, or QR - or assign it straight to a class - no account required for someone else to open it.

Core ideas

What makes a Calc-Class calculator different from a solver.

The structured model

Calc-Class identifies the maths behind your problem - an equation, a shape, a dataset - not just the answer.

m = 3 → −2

What can change

Each model marks the values you're allowed to move, so you can ask "what if" instead of re-typing the problem.

base stays 8

The invariant

The most useful question in maths: after the change, what stayed the same? Calc-Class only claims it when it derives it.

Try an example

Real problems, solved live - pick one to see it become a calculator.

What Calc-Class can build

A real, growing set of problem types - not every math problem yet. When one is ambiguous or unsupported, you'll see that honestly on the review screen, never a silent guess.

Graphing

Points, lines, and quadratics get an actual plotted graph you can read values off of.

Equation solving

Linear and quadratic equations solve completely, with editable coefficients that re-solve live.

Symbolic simplification

Algebraic expressions simplify and expand, with domain restrictions called out explicitly.

Geometry & formula calculators

Shapes, dimensions, area/perimeter/volume, and general formula-based problems (finance, statistics, sequences, and more).

Trigonometry

Right-triangle problems get a labeled diagram; general trig identities solve without one.

Statistics

Mean/median/mode, and linear regression on a data set with a real scatter-and-best-fit-line plot.

Word problems

Translated into a real equation or model where the problem is well-posed enough to do so.

Common questions

Does Calc-Class just give the answer?
No. It identifies the mathematical model behind the problem, shows what can change, and lets you explore the relationship. The answer is one part of that, not the whole thing.
Can I use a photo of handwritten work?
Yes. Photograph a typed or handwritten problem and Calc-Class reads it, then shows you what it understood so you can correct it before going further.
What happens when I change a value?
The model recalculates in your browser straight away. Nothing is re-sent for interpretation, so moving a value is instant.
